Dakota Proof of Address Requirements

To complete your verification with Dakota, proof of address is required for certain businesses and individuals. Below are the details on who needs to provide proof of address and what documents are accepted.

Who Needs to Provide Proof of Address?

Proof of address is required for:

  1. Businesses onboarding to Dakota that require access to SEPA or SWIFT payment rails.

  2. Individuals who are Control Persons or Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs) of businesses onboarding to Dakota, if they:

    • Reside in the European Economic Area (EEA).

    • Provide a government-issued ID from a controlled or prohibited region but claim residence elsewhere.

  3. Any customer when requested by Dakota for additional verification.


Accepted Proof of Address Documents

For Businesses

Businesses must provide a document that confirms their current operating address. The document must:

  • Be addressed to the business entity applying.

  • Be issued within the last 90 days (except for lease agreements, which must be current but can be older than 90 days).

  • Not use a PO Box or virtual address.

Accepted Documents for Businesses:
 Bank statement
Utility bill (e.g., electricity, water, gas, internet, or landline phone bill)
Government-issued letter (e.g., tax notice, business registration confirmation)
Office lease agreement (must be current, even if older than 90 days)


For Individuals

Individuals must provide a document that confirms their current residential address. The document must:

  • Be addressed to the individual applying.

  • Be issued within the last 90 days (except for lease agreements, which must be current but can be older than 90 days).

  • Not use a PO Box or virtual address.

Accepted Documents for Individuals:
Bank statement
Utility bill (e.g., electricity, water, gas, internet, or landline phone bill)
Government-issued letter (e.g., tax notice)
Government-issued ID (must include the address and be issued within the last 90 days)
Residential lease agreement (must be current, even if older than 90 days)

  • Ensure all documents are clear, legible, and unaltered.

  • The address on the document must match the address provided in the application.

  • Submitting an incorrect or outdated document may result in verification delays.
